Yesterday I was asked if I could think why birds were not taking food off the garden birdtable yet the garden itself was full of birds. I could not think of a concrete answer.

Now is the time birds are nesting, hatching their young birds, feeding the young birds and trying to feed themselves.
When cats kill birds now it can mean that they are not only killing one bird but the young fledglings may not survive either.
