We finally managed to harvest the field of barley.
We had to leave one small corner because the rain started again.
It’s still raining and the ground is very wet and muddy. Usually at this time of year it’s dry and easy to walk on.
We still have fields of wheat to harvest. We are hoping the sun [...]

Our corn was ready for harvesting. On the 31 July we managed to get a few hours of combining done.
We have not harvested any corn since the 31 July. The corn is ready but we are unable to harvest it because it has rained so much.

Every week for the past three weeks I have been taking photographs of corn ripening.
The photo on the left was taken last week. The larger photo on the right was taken today. You can see how the corn has ripened during the past 7 days.

When I’m on my walk I often see a variety of birds flitting in front of me along the hedge.
I also see crows, rooks, pigeons, owls flying high overhead in the blue open sky of the Yorkshire Wolds.
The fields are lush with grassand corn.
