Twice this morning I’ve seen a sparrow carrying what looks like nesting material in its beak. What a strange time of year to be carrying nesting material. Does anyone know what’s its doing?

The RSPB are having a Feed the Birds Day. There is a guided walk and feed the birds information at Bempton on Saturday 20th October and I’m looking forward to taking part in it. I hope to learn more about feeding birds and it will be good to meet other bird feeders!
