Birds were singing just outside out front door.
The chirping and cheeping was coming from a nest inside the roof space.
I was really pleased to hear the singing every time I opened the front door.
I still can’t believe that the nest is full of starlings!

Bird Photographs.
Here are some photographs I’ve taken of birds at the meshed ground feeder.  There is always a variety at the feeder, but it’ s so difficult to get a good photo.

I’ve been feeding the birds this morning.
I came inside and was looking out the window when I saw a chaffinch and a sparrow perched near each other on the fence.
All of a sudden the chaffinch ‘attacked’ the sparrow.  It fluttered it’s wings and ‘ran ‘ along the top of the hedge at the sparrow.

Every day I put out some cut and peeled apple for the birds in my garden.  I put some on the bird table, some on the meshed ground feeder and a few slices I throw under a bush.  These bits of apple always get eaten.

Funny you should mention about crows in the garden with other birds,
We seem to have a resident crow who frequently visits our pond,
I have put bread out for the birds Mr. Crow picks up a piece and puts in the water to soften it, then proceeds to eat it, plus any fish food [...]

There’s a lot of activity in my garden at the moment.  There’s a lot of activity everywhere in the countryside.  Birds young and old are on the look out for food and water.
