Covered Bird Feeder for sale – Hand Made in Britain

Safe from the weather

WE STARTED MAKING COVERED BIRD FEEDERS FOR OURSELVES A FEW YEARS AGO. THIS WAS BECAUSE I WAS CONCERNED THAT SNOW WAS COVERING THE BIRD FOOD JUST MINUTES AFTER I HAD PUT IT ON THE BIRD TABLE.  IT IS A NEW IDEA THAT BIRDS ACTUALLY FEED INSIDE A BIRD FEEDER, BUT IT WORKS.

THE MESH IS 50ML SQUARE AND SO ALLOWS BIRDS FROM WRENS TO BLACKBIRDS TO FEED INSIDE. THEY SOON BECOME EXPERTS AT FLYING IN AND OUT OF THE WIRE MESH.

THE ROOF KEEPS THE FOOD DRY AND THE MESH ALSO HELPS KEEP THE ELEMENTS AWAY

WE FIND IT  ENTERTAINING TO WATCH THE BIRDS FEEDING INSIDE IT.   BIRDS HOP IN AND OUT ALL DAY, AND THEY DON’T FLY AWAY AS QUICKLY AS WHEN THEY FEED ON AN OPEN BIRD TABLE

ROBINS, BLACKBIRDS, SPARROWS, BLUETITS AND MANY MORE MIX AND MINGLE INSIDE THIS FEEDER

PEOPLE COMMENTED ON BIRD TABLE NEWS AT THE AMOUNT OF BIRD FOOD WASTED THROUGH ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS AND SO WE DECIDED TO MAKE SOME TO SELL.  BELOW IS ONE OF THE COMMENTS

Hello Trisha – Thanks for your email.  I’m not surprised to find that I am not alone with my problem of wasted seed from the feeders and bird tables in wet and windy weather.  Like you I have always brought both my feeders in every night and I also change them round at noon so the birds have a fresh dry feeder to use.  I then pick out the congealed seed to throw away and, after cleaning the feeder and making sure it is dry, I refill the feeder and then put more food on the bird table.  I resent paying £26 for a 20 Kilo bag of seed where a lot of it is wasted.

I’M SURE YOU WILL FIND THIS BIRD FEEDER USEFUL AS IT KEEPS THE BIRD FOOD DRY AND ALSO GIVES BIRDS PROTECTION WHEN FEEDING.

IT IS WEATHER PROOFED WITH A PROTECTIVE COATING

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ORDERING ONE PLEASE CONTACT

We have updated and improved this bird feeder – but take a look at the first one we made

A feeder that keeps birds and bird food dry. Shame the hanging bird feeder fell down!

A feeder that provides shelter to birds while they are feeding  and keeps bird food dry. Shame the hanging bird feeder fell down!

This is the first one of this type we made.  We have improved it and made small changes to it.

If you would like more information or are interested in purchasing a new, unused, updated bird feeder of this type then please get in touch
