I would like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas
Where has 2009 gone?
It only seems five minutes since I went to the 2008 Carol Service and watched the Nativity. Now the 2009 Service is over.
Village children, a Yorkshire Church full of people and lit only by Christmas Tree lights for part of the service.
The voices of children singing Away in a Manger. Later, then later in the Service all the congretation singing filled the Church with sound. The Church Organ music reverberated round the Church as it has done for many years.
Churches were made to be filled with sound and singing – it brings them to life
I like being able to sing a Christmas songs from memory and not have to look at the words on the Carol Sheet. I think the words mean more. There is something nice about singing with a lot of other people as well.
Watching the children in Church perform the Nativity made me realise once again that Christmas is really a religious festival. How did it get so commercialised?
After the Carol Service in the Church tea and biscuits were served so everyone stopped to chat. Children ran around in Nativity Costume and their laughter filled the Church. Neighbours, community and Church – all together for one hour.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL
I WONDER IF IT IS TOO MUCH TO WISH FOR PEACE ON EARTH AS WELL
