Hi
Sparrows ? Don't encourage them at all because you'll never get reed of them ! I had Blackbird nesting regularly in my garden, but as an idiot I was putting out seeds as well. NO MORE blackbird nest any more. The sparrows chased away everybody. I am now converted to bluetits and put out mealworms in special caged feeder made by myself where only tits can enter. Unfortunately I still get the sparrows that try and still food from the blue tits, but hopefully I'll slowly get reed of them. I have bluetits nest at the moment and the eggs are hatching at this very moment. Hope that when the moment comes the sparrows won't attack the babies as they come out. With any luck next winter they'll desappear for luck of food.
