Heron in a Lincolnshire garden
Aug 28th, 2008 by Birdy Trish
another bird I see feeding in my garden from time to time is a heron which is doing a grand job keeping down the numbers of fish in my pond!
It is so skittish I haven’t managed to get a photo of it yet as it is usually first thing in the morning when it arrives for its breakfast. I’ve only got to move too close to the kitchen window and it is off like a shot.It is a magnificent sight to see it taking off hardly more than about 15 feet away from me. That close I can see just how big they really are.
WHAT AN UNUSUAL SIGHT THAT MUST BE TO SEE A HERON IN YOUR GARDEN.A neighbour told me she saw a heron about two years ago but a bunch of crows seemed to chase it off.
