Hi,

I seem to be over my computer problems.  But I must admit at one point I was longing for a fountain pen and an ink bottle.

I can remember the sound of pen touching the glass ink bottle as I was about to fill the pen with ink.  The quietness, no whirring computer sounds then. 

Unscrewing the pen. putting the pen into the ink bottle and ‘pumping’ the ink into the pen.  The newness of the writing and the pen nib full of new ink. 

Blotting paper!  How I liked blotting paper!  There were no technical problems with blotting paper. 

There were no technical problems with a fountain pen.  I think I wrote more neatly with a fountain pen than I ever did with a plain old biro.

We can’t go back.  Computers are the way forward (or are they).

It is a good way to keep a diary and I’ve got some good help to sort out the technical problems.  I’ve promised myself I won’t throw any bricks at the computer.

Birds have survival as a problem.  My only problem this last few days has been my computer - plus back ache and crows at the bird table.
