Birds not taking bird food from a bird table
Apr 10th, 2008 by Birdy Trish
Twice recently I’ve been asked about birds not taking bird food off a bird table. The first time it happened the problem got sorted because the birds suddenly ‘found’ the bird table.
I’ve received this question and I don’t know the answer -
Think you may have been asked this before but could not find answer on your site but would appreciate your comments please..
Have had a bird table in garden for about a month and not one visitor!
Researched nice selection of foods and even have home made bird cake.
It is not terrifically exposed, not by a fence / wall etc.
We do have many species visiting the garden - why are they not interested
do you think? Many thanks,Does anyone have any ideas? I’ve found bloggers to be a friendly lot so hopefully we get an idea of what’s happening. I myself thought -
- Maybe there is enough food in the garden - yet it can’t be that because it’s the breeding time of year.
- Maybe there is a sparrowhawk nearby - yet it can’t be that because the birds visit the garden every day
- Maybe it’s because birds are stupid critters! (Joke)
If you are reading this and have any thoughts then it’s easy to get in touch with me.
I’m going to be asking around for more information.
We can join together to find an answer to this puzzle.
Birds do need food at this time of year (well all except the birds above). I’ve found some really good bird food that is good for birds when they are laying eggs and looking after young it is supplied by Garden Bird Supplies . If you read this article you will see a link to the bird food that may interest you
