Bird Photograph - Answer to Spot the Bird
Mar 21st, 2008 by Birdy Trish
On March 11th I showed you a photograph asked if you could Spot the Bird.
It was a white dot of a bird.
Here is the Answer
An owl.
In the March 11th Spot the Bird photograph it is the white dot to the right of where the lane bends. It is at the bottom of the hedge line.
Below is a better photo of an owl. A predator looking for prey.
This owl was flying along a hedge hunting. I stopped the car and got the camera out in case it came near. I opened the car window, moved the camera as much as I could to follow the owl when the owl whooshed by. You can see how low it was flying.
The brown is the hedge, the green is the grass.
My best owl photo ever.
Hope it nests in our Barn Owl Nest Box - here’s a photo of it
I remember in June last year we were so pleased when we thought an Owl was nesting in this Barn Owl Nest Box. I was so annoyed when I found out it was a Jackdaw breeding in the Barn Owl nest Box.
Thanks to Lucy and Sadie for cleaning out the Barn Owl nest box in November last year. You deserve medals!
I seem to be writing a lot about Owls this week. But they are lovely to see in flight. A special bird
