Pigeon eating the food I put out for the garden birds
Mar 5th, 2008 by Birdy Trish
Pigeons. I don’t like em! Pigeons get everywhere.
I’d forgotten about this pigeon getting into the meshed ground bird feeder. It happened on Monday.
I don’t know how long it had been there before I saw it, but a lot of the bird food had gone.
How had the pigeon got in? I leave the meshed door open a small amount so that blackbirds and thrushes can get in. I face the open door into the hedge. Still the blumin pigeon got in.
I put the bird food out for the chaffinches, blue tits and other smaller garden birds and this is what happens.
Then I have rooks and crows circling round as well. I saw a rook try and perch on my fat ball feeder this morning. That’s all I need.
All was well in my garden and this shows you the small birds using the same feeder
This morning at the same meshed ground bird feeder I saw
A blackbird
A chaffinch
A sparrow
A blue tit
So I won’t give up. I’ll just make sure the feeder door isn’t opened as wide. Hope that works.
