Bird feeding is a solitary hobby,
-
Writing a blog about birds is a solitary hobby
For those two reasons it’s really brilliant that my pal Sara from Farming Friends has thought of me and given me this True Blue Award.
I’m really pleased that my blogging pal has given me this award. I don’t think I deserve it because all people who write blogs seem to help each other out that is why it’s good being part of a blogging ‘community’
- In case the writing on the Award isn’t very clear it says -
A TRUE BLUE AWARD
WILL ALWAYS STAND BY YOU
In truth I think Sara’s supported me more than I’ve supported her, but isn’t the wording lovely.
It’s a lovely idea to take time in this busy world to remember pals and friends.
I’d like to nominate True Blue Awards to:
I know my blog is about birds and the three sites I’ve mentioned are about Farming, Families and Vegetables and they may not seem to be linked to birds, but they are because -
-
Anyone can get interested in bird feeding.
-
Vegetables: If you grow vegetables in the garden you are bound to be close to birds and it’s easy to feed the birds.
-
Families: Getting youngsters interested in birds and bird feeding is a good idea. It’ll get them away from the computer for a while and they’ll soon find they’ve found a new fresh air hobby.
-
Farming: Farms provide a lot of habitat for birds. There are old sheds for swifts and swallows. There are hedges full of berries that provide also provide nesting sites, shelterbelts of trees, open fields and much more besides.
-
Another reason the three sites are linked to mine is because they’ve been really helpful with the technical stuff that’s needed to have a blog.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my visitors who take time to read my blog. I appreciate your visits and comments. I read the comments with interest and always find them interesting.
I still find it amazing how the internet lets people from all over this world of ours connect. Birds physically ‘migrate’ , maybe through the internet we ‘migrate’ mentally. This ‘mental migration’ lets us ‘visit’ parts of the world we would never see and ‘meet’ people from other parts of the world that we would never get to know. I’ve been able to learn about birds and heard from people all over the world as well as locally.
Take care, you are all really appreciated as it’s nice to know that other people in the wide world are interested in feeding birds, watering birds and who generally care for birds.

Thank you for nominating TopVeg for a true blue award. we are honoured. It is wonderful to think that people from the other side of the world are reading your blog & probably feeding the swallows we watched hatch in the summer.
TopVeg concentrates on vegetable gardening, but the birds are part of our garden too.
Thank you for thinking of us
