Robins will i am sure eat bird food you put out for them.
But remember, robins aren’t all sweetness and light.
Robins attack each other and sometimes fight to the death. The fight can start with one robin striking one blow with wings or feet.
As the fighting carries on the two robins can tumble on the ground. The victorious robin strikes the weaker robin on the head sometimes blinding or killing it.
Looking at pictures of robins on a Christmas Card I find this hard to believe, but it’s true.
But despite their firey nature they do need feeding through the winter.
Feeding robins a specialist Robin and songbird mixed seed will bring robin redbreast to your garden.
Feed that contains berries and insects will help the robin through the freezing, dark, winter nights.
Description
Large, black eyes. Forehead, throat and breast are red. Upper part of a robin is olive-brown.
