Bird Attack
Nov 29th, 2007 by Birdy Trish
The bird was silhouetted high against the sky. It was flying away from me, following the length of a hedge.
This bird of prey soon became a small speck in the blue sky. It reminded me of a yo-yo as, one minute it dropped towards the earth and the next minute it rose in the air as though pulled upward by an invisible string. I watched mesmerised.
I didn’t want this bird go to hungry and at the same time I didn’t want an unsuspecting smaller bird to become its breakfast. I don’t know what happened. It would be in the lap of the Gods. Life and death in a country English lane.
I didn’t have my camera with me.
The white moon was high in the blue sky and an aeroplane seemed to be flying two inches away from it.
We are lucky to get glimpses of nature. Outside the realms of our ordered lives there is a wild side to England.
