Early morning bird feeding
Nov 7th, 2007 by Birdy Trish
It’s dark, cold and windy outside this morning. It’ll soon be time to get the coal fire blazing in the grate and make sure the central heating is working. I want to keep warm this winter.
I’ve just been outside and filled up the bird feeders.
Back inside the house I’ve been watching the birds through the kitchen window. They are at the feeders already. It’s a wonder they can keep clinging to the branches as the branches are swaying up and down - blown by the wind.
I’m so pleased - a sparrow, a thrush and a blackbird are feeding on the same small patch of grass. I’ve peeled and sliced an apple and put that on the lawn near my bush, along with some grated cheese and some bread crust. The sparrow, thrush and blackbird are having a feast - until the squirrel arrives.
Have a good day. Trisha
