An Ocean of Air
Jun 15th, 2007 by Birdy Trish
We cannot see the air. We can see many things which it does. Wind is only air that is moving. We can see branches and leaves moved by the wind. Wind will turn a windmill. Air has sufficient substance to be able to push things so they move. Like the waves of an ocean.
Another thing that shows that air has substance is the fact that it holds up birds.
There must be something quite substantial there for birds to be able to mount so quickly just by pushing on it with their wings - Birds can only stay up if they move through the air and make, as it were, a wind of their own.
