I have killed a bird

I have killed a bird. A thrush. I don’t know if it was a Song Thrush or a Mistle Thrush. I didn’t like to look too closely at it. Someone else took it away. It looked so pitiful, when it should be singing and enjoying life it was lifeless at my feet. Guilt surrounds me. It flew into a window at the back of our house, near the trees. It’s as simple as that. I know that putting shapes on the windows would have stopped this happening. I have been meaning to put some self adhesive shapes onto the windows but have never got round to it.
I have no excuse because I’ve known for ages that this could happen. A lot of birds are flying round near the trees and must use this area as a flight path from the trees. All I needed to have done was stick a few shapes onto the windows so the birds would realise there was a barrier. I did not do it, but I will now.
